James Townsend is an experienced attorney with emphases in Criminal and Family Law. James started his law career working as an intern in general practice firm in Colorado Springs. There he honed his research skills in discrete areas of law including family law, personal injury, and criminal law. He later worked as an attorney in the State Office of the Public Defender. There he gained trial experience while managing an enormous case load. Now, he is the newest attorney to join Prendergast & Associates.

James speaks Spanish and Portuguese fluently and has continually dedicated himself to service in the Latino and Hispanic communities. While in college at Brigham Young University, he spent a semester as a volunteer teaching free English classes in Monterrey, Mexico. During Law School at the University of Idaho, he founded the Spanish Speaking Law Students, a student organization dedicated to better preparing young attorneys to serve Spanish-Speaking clients. He also served in the Immigration Clinic at the University of Idaho, providing free legal services to the less fortunate members of the community.
